Na Pomezí Caves - Visiting Rules
Opening hours

Cave tours are provided in line with the Visiting Rules approved for the given year by the Cave Administration of the Czech Republic published at napomezi.caves.cz.

Special cave tours outside of the regular opening hours may be possible if operational conditions allow it and after agreement with the cave administration office. The group must consist of at least 10 paying visitors; there is a 100 % extra charge for each person.

If required for safety or other reasons, the caves may be closed either partially or completely.

Should the caves be closed for a longer time, notifications will be posted on the given facility, published at www.caves.cz, and disseminated in the media or other suitable means.
Entry to the caves

Entry times for individual tours are organized according to the number of visitors, the language used during the tour, caves capacity.

Group tours booked in advance in writing or by phone shall have priority over other visitors; should the group fail to turn up at the cash desk at least 15 minutes before the agreed time, that group will lose its priority to enter the cave.

Each ticket is valid only for one visit and purchased tickets are non-refundable.

After purchasing tickets visitors should gather at the agreed time in front of the entrance to the cave.

Entry to the caves is organized by the tour guide according to the instructions of the dispatcher,

The temperature in the caves is always around 7 °C; warm clothing is recommended.
Cave tours

Each cave tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. The route is 390 m long and contains 196 stairs.

The lowest number of visitors in one group is 5, and the highest is 40; the dispatcher shall decide how many people to include in each group.

Entry to the cave without a tour guide is strictly prohibited.

During the tour, visitors are required to observe the instructions of the tour guide and requested not to disturb the narration.

Take extra caution throughout the entire route, especially on stairs and when in narrow or low-ceilinged spaces. Hold on to handrails and pay attention to notifications issued by the tour guide.
- Visitors can only make audivisual recordings without using a tripod, selfie stick and flash. It is not allowed to retard the tour, move away from the group and hold down other visitors. If this instruction is violated, the guide may forbid making audiovisual recordings. Images and video recordings may not be used for commercial purposes without the aproval of the Cave Administration of the Czech Republic.

Should any extraordinary event occur (for example, a power blackout) visitors must remain in one location, keep calm, and observe the instructions of the tour guide.

Visitors must report any injury or illness (including cases of nausea) during the tour to the tour guide, who will ensure that the situation is handled properly.
Protection of nature and equipment
The caves are a part of a special area protected by law ČNR Nr.114/92 on the preservation of nature and natural landscapes. For this reason, all visitors must respect its requirements both on the surface and underground, must not damage natural phenomena (rock formations, tree species, plants etc.) and must only use paths open to the public. Breach of the preservation or damaging specially protected parts of nature is liable to a penalty of up to 50,000 CZK.
It is prohibited to:
- touch, break, or damage stalactites, sinter deposits, cave walls, or any other cave formations
- remove any samples of stones or stalactites from the cave
- enter areas outside the tour walkways or leave the guided group
- touch electrical or safety equipment
- paint, write or engrave on walls or cave formations
- disturb bats
- smoke, eat, drink, discard rubbish or otherwise contaminate caves
- bring a large luggage, sporting equipment, hiking sticks, umbrellas, etc into the caves
- bring dogs or other animals into the cave, no exceptions
It is further prohibited to:
- enter the cave under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances
- enter as a child under the age of 10 without adult accompaniment
- enter with a handicap that prevents completion of the route (due to the high level of difficulty of the route, entry to the cave is not recommended for children under the age of 3 or for people with physical handicaps).
Final provisions

Each visitor is obligated to understand and observe the Visiting Rules.

Should these rules be violated, the cave tour may be terminated prematurely and without reimbursement.

Should the Visiting Rules be seriously violated (especially if a cave formation is damaged), a civil or criminal prosecution will be initiated against the offender.

Wishes, suggestions, comments, or complaints may be submitted in writing by making a note in the comment book, which is available at the entry ticket office upon request.

Motorists, including bus drivers, may only park in designated parking spaces.
